The Workshop - Developing People Online
Inspec Solutions helped leading training supplier The Workshop develop an online training system for BP Retail (UK) Ltd, to train up to 10,000 employees. Inspec Solutions developed a complex SQL server database system, which stores all course details and user performance information and allows admin staff to update system content online without the need for specialist knowledge.
UKPIA - Risk Manager Application
Inspec Solutions developed the Risk Manager product for the UKPIA group, with the project being project managed by BP. The program is designed to allow Risk Assessments to be carried out on petrol forecourt and store retail sites.
The application was been designed to work on remote PCs from a 'core' database. When a new site requires a risk assessment a copy of the 'core' database is taken and then this copy can be adjusted as required at a site to accommodate the actual risks faced.
These assessments are then stored electronically on an assessors PC and reports can be printed and left with the site as a permanent record of the assessment and actions required to address the risks. The assessments can also be electronically exported to allow for further reviews.
The site's assessment can, therefore, be returned to at any time for further review, action or assessment.
The product also has the capability, subject to an initial generic assessment having been carried out, to manage and store historical data on risks for a site from 'Cradle to Grave'. That is to say those other phases, such as design or construction or anything else the user can conceive of, can be added to the tool.
The package comes complete with a generic operational risk assessment already installed in to the 'core' database.
Super User functions exist to modify the 'core' database and create new generic risk assessments for different phases. They also can determine which control measures a business feels is mandatory and those that are optional.
